Kate is a Masters level licensed clinical social worker. She also has certification from the Washington School of Psychiatry in Infancy and Early Childhood Mental Health (0-4 years old). She had served for eight years on the faculty of the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Social Work’s Child and Adolescent Certificate Program and the Continuing Professional Education Department. She also teaches numerous workshops on issues affecting children and is available for speaking engagements and staff trainings.
She works with children 0-12 years of age, non-conduct disordered adolescents, families and adult individuals. She specializes in play therapy and sandtray therapy. Kate works with children who have developmental delays and deficits and also works with children with autism, Asperger’s syndrome, as well as with other disabilities, e.g. cerebral palsy. She has worked with very young children who are sexual abuse victims. She also works with depression, anxiety and behavior disorders in children. She works with children and adults with a history of trauma and is trained in EMDR Levels 1 and 2.
Kate also works with adult women dealing with midlife issues and transition.
Kate has office hours in the Westminster and Columbia offices.
